This beauteous and scenic confluence of the Barak and Tuivai will soon be thrusted with the monstrous structure of a mega-dam named Tipaimukh Multipurpose Hydro-electric Project.
The Indian authorities have been in the process of constructing a 1500 MW large dam over the river Barak in the Tipaimukh spot of Manipur which would spell catastrophic danger both in North East India and the adjoining Bangladesh.The endangered people of India and Bangladesh have been protesting against the Tipaimukh Dam for years.
